Are we getting two delivery stations? Or did something fall through with the last one? Is this not the former Rosdtrek facility ? If it is the sing says sold and there have been a lot of renovation construction going on for a while...

I'm inclined to believe this is a relocation to somewhere more central to KW than Sportsworld. Even Toronto only has two delivery stations, Etobicoke and Scarborough, so I can't imagine Waterloo Region needing two.

The timing is strange. They have been renovating this building already before the announcement was made for Cambridge...

Tough to say whey they want two here. Not complaining, jobs are jobs are jobs. Though to be honest, theses jobs won't enable you to buy a nice home or rent a nice home. I think in this case, it will allow for better next day delivery, and in some cases, same day. Actually bittersweet in my opinion, as it may keep more people away from B&M, many of which do pay better than Amazon.
Thinking 20 years back, who'd have though we'd have Google and Amazon in Kitchener?

KITCHENER — For the second time in less than a month, Amazon.com, Inc. has announced plans to open a major delivery centre in Waterloo Region, this time in Kitchener.
According to a Wednesday morning news release, the online shopping giant will open a 120,000 square-foot delivery station at 100 Shirley Ave. The announcement comes about three weeks after a similar 136,000 square-foot delivery station was announced for Cambridge.
Sounds like both....

I watched a video on this, and it looks like these delivery centers take in all the packages from the GTA fulfillment centers destined for the Waterloo region (I'm guessing the Kitchener one will cover KW and the Cambridge one will cover Cambridge/Guelph?) via a truck that arrives maybe twice daily from each of the GTA fulfillment centers (There are currently 5 that I know of in the GTA now, Will we get same day prime now?) and are then handed off to local drivers to go to the last destination.

It would make sense for Cambridge to cover Cambridge, part of southern Kitchener, southern Guelph and perhaps Brantford, and Kitchener to cover the rest of KW and northern Guelph. Perhaps Stratford too.
Initially it seems like big news, and it’s better us than elsewhere, but I see it no different than Canada Post depots — they are both necessities to fulfil their agenda.

For sure, not high-paying jobs, many will start at $15/hour. But not everyone can work in a high-paying tech job. And Amazon does provide at least some benefits.
