(Not that any company towing for illegal parking with no driver present would care about such a technicality )
Wouldn’t it be OK to tow it with those little wheels that tow trucks carry? I would have thought that the important point is not to attempt to turn the wheels (at least, not very much — it might be OK to yank it maybe a car-length to get it out of a tight corner?).
Also I’m confident towing for illegal parking is done very carefully. I’m pretty sure the tow operator is liable for any damage to the target vehicle.

It would have made more logistical sense to do it Thursday so that the flat car could be well on it's way back by now

They've got two of them, this vehicle arrived on JTTX 157623, the previous one on JTTX 966024.

...and, we won't see the next one for a little while. All of the vehicles we have here now will get the In-Cab Signaling components installed here... the remainder will all be installed in Millhaven. So it doesn't really matter how fast the flatcar gets back.

Um, what are they implying has occurred here? That's just pointless hyperbole, by the looks of it.

I think you nailed exactly that. And I find such vapid commentary so frustratingly common right now...but it's sad to see it in an actual publication.

Sad but not surprising: WO isn't exactly a friend of the LRT.

Why would they even care? Not like any of their readers tax money is going towards the LRT. Kinda like The Record posting something about a TTC extension.
What the hell is wrong with the people in this region? Too much toxicity.

Seems like many people don't know that--which bugs me to begin with.

Dollies (those little wheels) are labour intensive, and when towing a vehicle for illegal parking slow the process down.

I wouldn't be so confident on that. Technically they are liable if you can prove they caused the damage. When I worked in Toronto, until the car was fully hooked up, if the driver came back, there would be a drop fee, that was significantly cheaper than the full tow bill. Never underestimate a greedy tow truck operator who will do whatever it takes to get the vehicle out of there in as little time as possible.

A crew was picking away at the crossover switches at Cameron this afternoon. Last week (or the week before? It’s all happening so fast!) when the lock got installed on the OCS, they also had trouble with the switches not registering they were locked in position there. I guess they were fixing that today.

If you have an interest in the history of street railways, electric trains, tunnels, infrastructure, rapid transit or intensification, you've got to watch American Experience: The Race Underground on Netflix.

We spotted 506 (!) wearing 8.5x11 nameplates heading up Charles on our way home tonight, around 6pm. That’s the latest I think I’ve ever seen them out!
My other half said he heard on the radio that they needed to turn it around in the yard for tomorrow’s testing.
The train was loaded with mass.
