Have just come from Midtown; the KCI crossover is fully embedded and covers are off. Would have grabbed a picture, but not only was it dark a lot of snow had drifted in and obscured the details.

Of the ones chosen, I really like Network, Cats and Passenger. But in the end this is art, which is highly subjective. It's unrealistic for me to expect to enjoy every piece that has been selected. Nevertheless, I am very happy that there is art at the stations!

I enjoy almost all the art chosen, and am merely indifferent to the others. So that's well done.

Ah, I figured that would happen at some point. There were those giant grates / vents / something in the ground there, the kind of thing you'd see in the ground above a subway system. They only extended to the edge of the sidewalk before (iirc), but with realignment, now went into the middle of the road. Figured that was a safety issue. Seems like will require a massive dig-up to fix though? Why wouldn't it have been done while underground utils were being done?

Kitchener City Hall station platform is now complete (well, except for the tactile edge and top-surface) - and the Anchor Wall is up, too! Kitchener City Hall station Nice to see a more permanent-looking solution to the track lubricator reservoir/pump units! There are little tents ("hoardings") up all over town, starting to come down, now that they have these finished off. King Street Grade Separation. Platform forms are in for the Northbound platform, here!

A crew was busy working on the Southbound platform forms. Mass Electric still working away at the catenary on Charles, in front of Cameron Heights. There sure is a lot of delicate work involved in this! The platform is more-or-less finished off at Mill, and now the work is focusing on the embedded track curve onto Ottawa (under the tents at the left).

Mill, looking South from Ottawa. Trains are going to look great going through that S-curve. New signage up at the KCI crossover! KCI crossover, now exposed and complete!

All of the traffic lights, except two (I think) are now active on King, between Wellington and Union! Here are some photos of the massive "hoarding" structure going up around the trackwork just South of Wellington. |
