If we're gonna fantasize: other them.

Who cuts the grass for them.  Grass looks WAY nicer, but there is always an extra cost involved.

As for Sound Transit, I took that in Seattle this summer... the majority of our trip was underground, and was fantastic!

Traffic signals at king/William king/willis now operational (the roads were still closed as of 3:20).

They are paving between king street trio and the other building.

It looks like we are stuck with the wooden poles a while longer as they covered the gravel patches with asphalt.
Everyone move to the back of the bus and we all get home faster.

I agree the original colour scheme looked better.

Perhaps it is for the better though. That piece will likely have to be replaced more than once during "learning-drive-in-an-lrt-community" phase after system launch. So better the grey get scratched and dented and replace it with the blue panel later.

Plus there are still thirteen trains to come maybe we convince them to change it by then.

OMG if they made half of them different I would move to another city.

What if each one was unique?

It may just be easier for GRT, simpler for users, and allow GrandLinq to work faster for the busses to stay on the detour a little longer to provide consistency.

Ok, good point. If it has to do with the remaining construction staging then it’s legitimate. If it’s “where o where shall we put our permanent stops” then it’s ridiculous and incompetent (not sure whose incompetence, but definitely somebody’s).

I too assumed that the way they extended the side strip down (compared to the original render), was done to align nicely with the panel below the light bar being painted blue to carry the design feature around the front. Would be curious to see what this looks like, perhaps someone with Photoshop skills can feed my curiosity with a mock up Wink? If it turns out this looks better, maybe tweet out a comparison of current vs mock up to Tom Galloway, see what he says. I know changes are bad at this point, but at least its a separate part which would be painted fully in blue - no masking or fixturing really needed. Odds are Bombardier, wants to maximize the common parts between Crosstown and Ion (1 front piece panted grey vs some blue and some green).

Any news on Duke/Ontario and Duke/Young? They're supposed to open today as well.

Not a good mock-up, but I think you'll get the idea ...

Thanks tomh009! Interesting, I think it ties the blue together from each side nicely - looks more complete. Quick comparo of Tom Galloway's original pic on the left, and tomh009's mock up on the right.

That has been open for many weeks (not including the William St. intersection). However, the traffic lights were still inactivated, with stop signs in place, as of yesterday afternoon.
