ION - Waterloo Region's Light Rail Transit
Francis will be open, end to end, on Sunday, or so the GrandLinq construction worker told me as I ran into a dead end on King at the Beer store due to paving.

Will this reduce or increase driver frustration? I was just crossing Weber at Victoria when someone saw the lights turn green, and tried to bolt left across the with-right-of-way eastbound traffic, trying to run me over (jumped out of the way). He then had the courtesy to swear and flip me as he pulled into the red at Water. Ugh.

Just saw King / Francis being paved as well! The big news from the Ion update claims that it's going to reopen on Sunday Smile. Looking forward to it!

ALSO in the update: Charles will reopen to two way traffic next Wednesday! With the exception of between Ontario and Queen, which will remain one way until the retaining wall in front of the TD (err... Netsuite?) building is complete.

Also from the update: sounds like the crossover installation at Cameron Heights will start soon! Haven't been by since Monday so perhaps they've already begun.

The point is that the Transport Canada standards are nonsensical, actively harmful and need to change.

You should probably write to them and let them know that.

Let us know how that goes.

That's really excellent - that means curbs, trackwork and paving are next - home stretch!

Wow! If the curbs and tracks are next, could this section of King be open to traffic sooner than late-November?

Signal testing was happening this morning on the Waterloo Spur at R+T Park. Crews are wiring up the TPSS' at Columbia and Bearanger.

The future Queen platform. Note all the conduits - these will be buried in concrete, and are what all sorts of cables and wires will pass through, up onto the platform.

Kind of a rotten photo, but several of the Traction Power Substations now have black poles surrounding them - the one at Bearanger is the first I've seen with paneling going up now around it.
