The new Ion update is out. Not noticing anything too new in it. There's a bit of info on the process for dealing with the Courdroy Road in it. Also, Ottawa beginning construction next week, and Courtland getting curbs in April. It would appear Courtland is now in the rebuilding stage, rather than the underground work stage, thankfully. Track work at the other end of Charles (by Stirling) starts next week. Track work on King has already begun.

I can verify that the bridge pictured above has indeed been installed on the east side of Courtland, it has the rebar already for the concrete to be poured..

Last week Jaworsky referred to the "Courdroy Road" as a former bridge over Laurel Creek, which makes some sense based on location.

I finally caught some people working on the coudoroy road today... it seems like any time I've been by it has been covered up or the pits have had obstructions blocking the view.
edit: Hmm... no rotation flag awareness. I'll try to remember that for the future.
Still not all that exciting, but seeing them working on Sunday gives the impression that they are trying to take care of this as quickly as possible.

If you have your browser open the image solo, the rotation does take hold.

With work on Ottawa St. between Charles and Mill starting this week, what does this mean for the widening of this stretch of road to four lanes? I would assume it would be done as part of ION construction but I haven't heard a word on the widening aspect for some time.

I can't imagine how it could be widened - it's 2 lanes now and tight, and we're adding track, which is removing a good chunk of people's front yards. There's no way it can go up to 4 lanes plus a track, that I could imagine, anyway... Was that the plan though? 4 lanes + LRT?

One block of Ottawa from King to Charles is being widened to 4 lanes, but it was out off until next year or the year after, when they redo Ottawa up to the highway with a multi use trail

I believe that the buildings on the "west" side of Ottawa will be demolished to accommodate this widening, no?

I don't know for fact, but I definitely wouldn't be surprised.
