The problem with your statement is that the only way that happens is by keeping trains away from everything, including people...which is bad...and pointless, a driver like this hitting an LRT is bad, and bad optics, but drivers like this injure people every day, and it doesn't even make the paper.
The real solution might be to keep cars away from everything, but our society clearly isn't ready for that...even the Dutch don't do that...although the Dutch seem to have figured out how to limit the harm bad drivers do.
Or TL;DR....lets not start this again, cars are the problem, not trains.

I don't think it's ragebait... Maybe King St isn't meant for 2-way auto traffic anymore? Maybe the city has grown up and changed over time? Why do we smash transit and cars together in limited public space and then act shocked when irrational drivers act like irrational drivers and hit everything in sight?
Why don't our trained engineers have the courage to make decisions like that? Real cities make tough choices all the time instead of kicking the can and compromising on safety in order to keep vocal cranks at bay. Stupid shit like this doesn't happen in real cities and it's not because they have "better drivers", it's because they don't design stupid shit.

No, you are obviously the troll, of this group (and please, everybody, especially moderators, I don’t mean this as an insult; it’s just an assessment of many of the things he writes; a troll can be, and in this case is, an important part of the community who brings a lot of character to the place).
And the roads weren’t meant for automobiles. They were originally meant for pedestrians and horse-drawn vehicles, then later electric streetcars were added. Only more recently did automobiles become common and eventually take over almost the whole right-of-way. Then yet more recently tracks were added back in, making the central portion of the street “meant for” both private vehicles and automobiles, in separate lanes.
Interestingly, I’ve often wondered if ac3r is even an architect! He’s quick to be critical of others’ work but only shows us examples of good architecture produced by others but never shows his own work. I have no experience working with architects so I have no idea if this is standard practice but I did work in the design field for over 30 years with many other creative individuals including designers, illustrators, videographers, photographers and developers. I never once met someone who was not eager to share their portfolio of work with you.

Interesting point, but if he wishes to remain pseudonymous then it’s unavoidable. He can’t even make many statements along the lines of “when I was working on an office building in North York, …” and then go on to say much about the building without making it possible to identify him.
