Nice, it's about time! But who knows, with how that intersection's been going, they'll probably just tear it up in a week again.
So, with Charles almost done from Ontario - Victoria, and Benton - Borden, can we expect curbs there soon?

Here is another view. The road looks pretty good all the way up to Queen now, so I think we would see a closure of the Charles-Queen intersection soon. But maybe not until Charles-Benton reopens?

Re: curbs and rails - I think within 6 weeks. The guy I talked to when they were offloading rails at Borden/Courtland on Sunday said the Borden (Courtland to CN) section would get track in about 6 weeks. They have welded rail on Charles earlier than that... Which makes me think Charles will get track in <6 weeks.
That being said, the Borden (Courtland to CN) segment is probably the "furthest along" of any of the downtown/urban type sections of the alignment.

In the picture now you can see how just now they took the old track and connected it to the the straight segment.

Does anyone know how things are progressing on King? Does it look like the underground utility work is about to be completed anytime soon?

Last time I drove through it to see where they were at (about a week ago), King is basically entirely "covered back up"' and looks like all solid packed dirt. It gave me the impression that they are done deconstructing/moving things around underground and are ready to start "adding" things, like curbs, pavement, and tracks.

Interesting, looks like we're about a week away from track being installed on Borden! Why do they only need 3 days, though? Other road crossings have taken 3-4 weeks, how will they complete the Borden / Courtland one in 1/8th of that time?

The 3-week closures have been due to large watermain/sewer works being undertaken at the same time.
I believe that work was completed a few weeks ago for Borden. The main difference was that for the Waterloo Spur, there had to be a functional track after every work shift.

I also wonder if they don't mean track installation, if they just mean the welding operation - and they might want to have Courtland closed so they can more easily (and at their leisure over the duration of the closure) drag the rail sections across the road to lay them closer to their final location. Matt (GrandLinq) seemed pretty certain that the rails wouldn't be placed in their final position for about 6 weeks (from last Sunday).

Perhaps so, but where would they place the final welded rails if not in their final location? If they weren't putting them in the ground just yet, why not weld them somewhere else on Borden where a street closure wouldn't be required, you know? And if the answer to that is because there isn't enough space elsewhere on Borden, then where would they have planned to put the welded track after the closure? Just my line of thinking.
Maybe they only plan on doing the section from the Spur to the other side of Courtland just to have it done.

Does anyone have an idea what the door chime for our LRVs will be? I'm assuming there will be one... Does Bombardier choose the sound, or would it be the Region?
