Had this been a problem with a traffic signal affecting vehicles a crew would have been dispatched the moment the problem was noticed and resolved within the hour.
They still need the button to be pushed? I agree that is about as inappropriate a location for needing to press the button as I can think of in the Region.
On the plus side, has anybody else noticed that a lot of buttons have gained a “person walking with stick” icon? Erb and Caroline, in particular, I think has recently gained those. So it looks as if the buttons that are just to activate the audible indicators are getting their proper labelling. Now if we can just get the rest of the high-(pedestrian)-traffic crossings to work the same way…
