Yes, the slowness is just unnecessary, which is super upsetting. But the article also points out that (1) it is faster than other transit systems; it's not just us. Transit usually is kind of slow unless cars are even slower. Bikes are faster; and (2) most trips that people actually do, and most trips that I have done, are actually not the full-length, and hence short.

And yet there is the 30km/h speed limit on residential roads. I actually agree with them, but also, yes, it does feel slow. (I was driving around campgrounds recently, though, and sometimes when they post 5km/h limits, that's just completely unreasonable.)

I think that the next step is for people to engage with their Regional Councillors about this article and get conversations going.
