Has it been paved along the "unofficial" path along the creek or over the hill? Going up / down that hill is an ordeal.
As a tall person with an appropriately sized bike, I'm always biking through the tunnel ducking low to avoid decapitating myself.

The lighting in the tunnel is a known issue, but the lights get vandalized pretty often apparently.
I think they are reluctant to spend money if the tunnel cannot be made acceptable.
I agree a level crossing of Westmount is not great either...like all things, it's going to cost money.

The paved path runs along the canal and is pancake flat. They did grade/scrape the gravel on the path going up the hill but it's still stonedust.

"Northfield Station to Farmer’s Market Road" - Are there are still gaps on Parkside Dr in the connection to the Laurel Trail? It seemed only about half done when I checked in the spring.

There is a short gap from Glenelm Crescent to just the other side of Weber. However, there is a painted bike lane for that section. I don't know why they didn't do that part. Anyhow, the rest of it is completed.

Today, I noticed a sign on a pole saying that that section will be completed in the future.

It's nice to see Vanier get some love. I grew up in that neighbourhood before Connaught Pl existed, and it was a common (though hated for the dirt and weeds) cycle connection from the Rockway neighbourhood to Connaught St even back then. My wife pointed it out the other day when we were driving by the First/Eckert corner and said "Isn't that new?"

The IHT crossing through Courtland/Stirling is also currently under construction.
