I've heard this type of thing from people who live in or near downtown Galt, but I didn't imagine it was such a big problem from what they've told me.
My impression has always been that the Region's social services were clustered in downtown Kitchener. Is that no longer the case? Are more services being provided in Cambridge (some posts suggest that, but don't seem to be specifically knowledgeable), and obviously attracting users of those services as a result?

There's definitely a generous social services sector in Galt; John Howard Society has an office right across the bus stop too.
In other news, it looks like they were taking core samples at the former 7/11 site at King and Dolph. That lot and the former Esso next door were fenced off as if they were one lot; has anyone heard if the parcels have been stitched together?
