Well Northdale Zoning in full effect. A bunch of people guessed this might happen but it's happening. Ground floors having retail added.
181 Lester St is having it's ground floor converted. Details here: http://www.waterloo.ca/en/business/181-lester-st.asp Oh, it's this building: Edit: 208 Sunview St is having the same thing done. (http://www.waterloo.ca/en/business/208-sunview-st.asp)

Some University of Waterloo construction updates:
The Science Teaching Complex is well underway. The crane's still up. The Needles Hall expansion is having bricks added to the side. The crane was dismantled last month sometime. There's a new Cell tower beside Health Services. Not sure when it's going to be functional, but they put the top piece on the monopole a few days ago (near bottom of article). St. Jerome's is starting to build structure to their new residence building. The crane went up a few weeks back. Rension's new wing has the walls up for the majority of the basement and first floor. There's only 2 floors plus basement for this phase, but it is being planned to be expandable to 5 stories in the future.

Sadly this is an improvement hah. It blends in a little bit more now.

Renison has most of the steel columns up for their building. They're using a ground-based mobile crane so the half of the building closest to the entrance was completed first and now they're onto the part closest to the road. It's going to be a sizeable addition.

When I went past Uni/King the other day it appears Spabar is gone and something else is going in there (putting in new partition walls). Does anyone know what is going into that prime location? I'm hoping it isn't another meh food joint . . .

Turns out that when 2000 people move into the neighbourhood, not only do they want shelter, but also food!

Now that the consolidated daycare is open the old daycare behind the UW hockey rink has been torn down, not just the portable classroom portion of the structure but the klemmer farmhouse too.
Anyone know the history of that farmhouse? Not as old as brubacher house I would think.
Everyone move to the back of the bus and we all get home faster.

It's too bad to hear about the farmhouse. It could have been repurposed for something else, possibly even Athletics related (think of the various offices in houses at Laurier). My guess is that the "It's not historic and it's been modified too much" argument was used. That leaves two of the original four (?) houses on campus standing.

Though I never been inside it, I heard it was in really bad state of disrepair. Plus there is no shortage of much nicer hundred year old wooden frame farmhouses around here, so good riddance.
