I thought Cambridge Towels shipped production overseas? I remember reading years ago that their factory burned down.

I just assumed that the plant on Dobbie was a manufacturing facility. Am I wrong? -- you sent me to look at my towels and they all say "Made in Canada".

Sometimes, it's hard to know whether a company still manufactures in town. One example for me would be MTD in Kitchener. At one time they made lawn mowers and snowblowers but I don't know whether they still make them here or are just a distribution centre.

Could have just changed factories. I know there was a fire back in the 90s; maybe they rebuilt.

The MTD plant on Kent Avenue closed back in 2007.  I believe all they do now is distribution and parts there.

Really like this thread
Not sure if BlackBerry was mentioned but at one time 100% of their production was here, over the years it shifted more and more to contact manufacturers. I can't say how much is still made here.

Does Kodiak have a shop at the factory?  Once upon a time, most of the clothing/footwear places in town had an outlet where you could buy seconds at a discount, but that seems to have pretty much disappeared.

China, I believe.   Aeryon assembles their drones in Waterloo - they were looking at doing some sub-assembly overseas but prefer to keep assembly here for quality control reasosn.
