Thanks for all the photos!
It is really hard to look at those pre-cast panels. Not sure who thought that was a pleasant design, but they were way off.

Cheap compared to some cladding systems! The tower ones are OK but the podium looks like garbage right now

Ya Not sure what happened with cladding on the one side of the podium there. Why not just keep it simple...clean glass?

The podium looks awful in person indeed, much worse than photos imply. They will be putting some glass and lighting on top of it but I suspect we'll still see a visible cheapness to it, unfortunately. Hopefully the glass and lights will improve it a bit.

It could be getting a better coat of paint too. I know that sometimes the precast comes with only a primer or the first coat of paint on it. Not that that helps the design, but at least it won't look 10 years old when it's brand new.

Drove the SO past this building...Duke then left on Frederick...asked SO to take a look at cladding give me an opinion. She's level headed, usually pretty chill one way or the other. Can't make this up, first three things as reaction: "what the hell....what's happening here? What the f%#@?"
