Update. Another floor is being added. I noticed on the weekend that the fixed concrete pump was removed. It's hard to see but it's resting on the first floor by Mary's Place.

Is that still part of the podium?

The open space by Mary's Place from what it looks like is being used for storage but it will be the same height as the rest of the podium. Its kind of hard to tell but there is rebar sticking out horizontally on each floor towards Mary's Place that wouldn't be there if the section by Mary's place is only one floor.(04-06-2020, 04:19 PM)tomh009 Wrote: Is that still part of the podium? Is hard to tell on the render, but looking at the old pictures, they have now 3 smaller pillars instead of a full wall. Also looking at the render, I wonder if the open space by Mary's Place will only have 1 floor?

My guess is the podium is finished, the parking is 5 levels, and this is floor 5 they are starting, is it not? Ya, I guess that part close to Mary's place wont take them long if it's only 5 storeys like the parking.

It looks like we're looking at the top floor of parking. The ramp going to the parking area (close to St. Peter's Church) is getting a roof and it's not at a slight angle like previously. Once this area is covered the residential units will begin. By the way, I think they are getting ready to build up the area close to Mary's Place.

Should we see faster or slower speeds now that they move onto residential units?
04-21-2020, 07:12 PM
Faster; all floors are now identical and they can take even more of an assembly-line approach.

I don't know if we have seen a layout of how the tower is situated on the podium. Are they gonna have to bring up the St.Mary's of the podium to continue. I don't expect that it would take long to do that as it's an access ramp then a couple floors of parking spaces and drive lane

This is the largest level area so far. If the rest of the floor will look like this then I would think that from now on it will be residences. The north side is still on the ground level. I'm sure they have a reason for this but I find it confusing. Why not do the whole floor at once?? (05-02-2020, 04:35 PM)jgsz Wrote: 05-02-20My assumption would be that since that's the footprint of the tower. It's easier to store the materials by leaving the back at ground level for now, because it's such a large building. Then once they've topped out they can easily finish off the podium. You can see something similar at some of the larger developments in Toronto, granted much larger than this. But that's my best guess, just makes supplying the site easier (note that duke nor fredrick are closed, whereas with a project like Charlie west the has Gaukel st where they can leave stuff)

Thank you for the great photos! I noticed the pipe for the concrete pump is now terminated at the North side close to where the pumper is lying. Wonder if they are going to set it up at this new location?
Also are they building the forms? Looks like one near the south east corner. |
