If it was just the anonymous posters on Reddit, I'd be skeptical. But I've heard the same rumours since long before Reddit was a thing. A friend that used to work there basically said the same thing too. At this point the number of independent unconnected people that have told me about shitty experiences with the Heuther makes me pretty inclined to believe the rumours, and say they haven't been negotiating in good faith with the Princess.

We went to see Comedy @ The Registry on Wednesday. I was shocked to hear this racist bigot make Islamophobic comments in the last five minutes of the show. It was not the way to end an otherwise fun and funny evening. I felt really bad for Nour Hadidi. Yesterday, CBC took up this story:

I'd never heard of Pequegnat Clocks before! Does anyone know where the factory was located? Are any remnants of it still around?

My mother bought one of those clocks at at a garage sale in the Montreal area sometime in the 60's for $5 and sold it I think in the '80s for $25. Unfortunately, I found it listed in an antiques catalogue for around $300, too late to tell her. I assume that they were the only clock manufacturer in Berlin, Ontario. It had the same lion head handles as some in the picture in the article.

I've seen that clock at the Library and the penny never dropped that it was a Pequenat. I don't know that there are any reminders in town, other than Pequegnat Ave.
I hope the Regional History Museum picks up a few of them.
By the way, am I correct in remembering that, in Kitchener, the name is pronounced "PEG-uh-nat"? Or is it PECK-wuh-nat?
