Crosslinx... so they're to Eglinton Crosstown what Grandlinq is to ION? ...but not quite since Grandlinq is to operate ION as well as building and maintaining it?
(Sorry, it's the first time I've heard the name Crosslinx. Trying to keep up.)
Seems as though Crosslinx claims that Metrolinx frustrated the contract by failing to get things done on their side in reasonable timetables and Metrolinx is firing back saying that under the contract Crosslinx shouldn't even be in the courts until after completion. Blame shifting ahead of a delay announcement?

If that’s the case Kevin why is there a $500,000/day penalty clause to Metrolinx (by Crosslinx) if they don’t have vehicles? Metrolinx flaunted this to the courts a while back when they tried to get out of ordering the FLEXITY Freedom fleet from Bombardier. I never understood why CL would care if they weren’t the operator.

I'm not sure of the details there, but I presume Crosslinx needs the vehicles to kit them out for the systems installed on Eglinton - I imagine the contract specifies a certain level of operability in the system before it's handed over to the TTC.

Nice. We should have bought PCCs — no waiting to install electronics!

My biggest issue with it is that it doesn’t do day passes (or have a daily cap). If we go to Toronto it is usually on a Sunday, where we can purchase a day pass for two people for about $10. With Presto there is no way to handle this so we would be severely overcharged. It’s ludicrous.

Presumably tourists were not a priority for Presto!
