I find it pretty unprofessional for the constant delays. I mean if you're going to keep delaying it, why have a countdown?
I'll put money that they will delay it again come mid May.

I thought that some of the new provincial measures only applied to the greater golden horseshoe which we are not a part of. If true, wouldn't that encourage more investment in our area?

My understnding is that we ARE part of the Greater Golden Horseshoe.

You are correct: https://www.ontario.ca/laws/regulation/050416
I was confusing it with the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area.

For some reason, I think they're having issues with the city. Just a hunch. They talk intensification, then balk when it happens.
That, or they are having some financing issues.
Seem to me that Kitchener is so slow at getting things done.

Charlie West is already approved (i think?) and they are about to open a sales centre across from City Hall... I have a feeling it will be completed much sooner than we all think.

Site plan is approved? If they are going strictly by the zoning that's possible, but if they are asking for any variances (which I do suspect they will, especially for setback toward Manulife) it'll end up in council, and that hasn't happened yet. There is a building permit application in the system for renovations to 201 King W to turn it into a sales centre but it hasn't been approved yet. I assume this is for Charlie West.
I do think SIXO is closer to starting pre-sales. Now, which one will sell quicker and be able to break ground earlier remains to be seen.

No, the Charlie West posters are in 195, the PUC building.

That's good. Strange as it is, Fritsch's is an institution. Just about the last of the old Downtown retail names.

Sorry, I think the confusion is my fault, sorry. The building permit is indeed listed under 201 in Kitchener's system, but the system combines the permits for both 195 and 201. Maybe those are part of the same property, not sure.

Sixo just sent out an email confirming the Friday unveiling, and with a partially revealed render. Can see it online at http://mailchi.mp/sixomidtown/vip-update...0fdee79aa1
