I had lunch today at Casa Toro..Mexican street food.

Second time and I was not disappointed Both times have been excellent. And the owners are really nice people

A developer is proposing a large development where the Charcoal Steak House is, so I assume the restaurant will either close or relocate at some point in the coming months. Wouldn't say it's a big loss, it's super generic food but nonetheless it did seem like a popular place.

The juicy cuts at the Charcoal Steak House aren’t going anywhere.
Neither are the mouth-watering mains at Del’s Italian Kitchen or the creative cocktails at Martini’s Bar and Patio.
“The restaurant is certainly not closing,” said Tom Wideman, co-owner at the Charcoal Group of Restaurants, which runs the trio of popular Kitchener restaurants, in an emailed statement.
“We remain steadfastly focused on growing and running our business and look forward to many more years of providing world class hospitality in the region.”

Highrise development will cause Mandarin restaurant owners to find new location

The local Mandarin restaurant, a fixture at 4220 King St. E. in Kitchener since 2006, will move to a new address to make way for a condominium development.

Details such as the timing and the new location have yet to be determined.

Based on an AGCO notice posted on the door, the former Ellison's restaurant will reopen in the (near?) future as Zara's Lounge & Bar.

Sorry for the bump, but what would y'all recommend more, Yeti Cafe or Lucero Canteen(or somewhere else entirely)? I have a coffee date tommorrow and I don't want to take her to the generic Coffee Culture.

If you go to Yeti, you would want to order food as well. Os if just coffee, Lucero might be the better option. Don't forget to consider Smile Tiger..

For me, Lucero is absolutely some of the best coffee in downtown Kitchener. So, if it's top-quality espresso drinks you are after, go for Lucero.
