He owns Werner Leuschner Enterprises Ltd.  He is a film maker, documenting the 2007 World Black Belt Championships.  He himself is a Wing Chun master.

Werner hit a deer on Hidden Valley Road in Kitchener, and in 2018 sucessfully lobbied the City to add this deer crossing sign.

On January 22, 2018, Werner's company (14776410 Ontario Limited) lost in their fight to evade development charges on a project at 561 York Rd, Guelph.

So, this project falls into the "unlikely to happen" category?

Demolition is nearly complete. Sales office on property. Appears to be happening.

I don’t know what to think. I’d be loathe to pre-buy if a project this big were a developer’s first (is it?). Perhaps there’s an experienced partner involved?

I think a few of us have Googled him and can't find much good news. I can't even find a website for the company

One would certainly hope so.

I always imagined trying to develop something large, but I think a lot of capital is needed first. Hopefully this dude isn't a scammer.

Construction mortgage. If they are successful in selling units, there should be no trouble getting financing.

I’d be more concern about getting it built. This is an awfully big project that needs experienced developers, istm.

Ya that would be my concern too

The approvals were obtained by Pamata Hospitality. Is this Leuschner's company, or did Pamata sell the property to Leuschner?

Seems to be their first project as well.  No real estate agents among the forummers?

The design is by GSP Group, who do have a lot of local experience: Barrel Yards, Grand Market, One Victoria, Catalyst 137, Victoria Common etc.
