It's ok. The chicopee subdivision fb group is complaining about a condo development with 14 units. 14! Because of the increased traffic concerns. Like I'm sorry if everyone in this condo development has 3 cars (which they won't) that's 42 more cars at most, spread out over 16 hours in the day let's say, that's maximum 3 or 4 more cars on tha street in any given hour. Oh the horror.
If only these same people realized that the neighbourhood they are trying to protect was once farmland... and they wouldn't have their lifestyle they enjoy today if people put up these roadblocks a hundred years ago.
They need to learn that this isn't people ruining your lifestyle, its having more people enjoy your neighbourhood. Coke

The developer and architect have redesigned this project this month. I've updated the OP to reflect it and included a new image.

This was approved at the Planning and Strategic Initiatives meeting last night, like normal there were questions about traffic but there was some added complaints about park land. Now it just needs final council approval.

It is a long way north to Franklin and Fairway is not so nice for anyone not on 4 wheels. A bridge that lands right beside the Zehrs plaza would open up that whole shopping area to the people who live on the other side of the highway in a HUGE way. I used to live in the towers at Wilson/Fairway, and the Hiway Zehrs was equally far away from our apartment as the Laurentian Zehrs, because you had to loop all the way around.

A bridge would ineed be useful. There are a lot of elderly people in the area - either in their own homes, assissted living or retirement homes - who do like to get out. But to cross that highway at that 1 bridge is quite a long trek. An bridge with an elevator to the top (on both sides) would be really nice to see.

Used to work nearby and the entire experience of walking on Kingsway or Franklin or Weber is just hazardous to human life. Anything to improve that is a great idea.
