Mongolian Grill in Waterloo will be closing Oct 31st. Not covid related. According to their Facebook post the landlord has asked them to leave so a higher paying tenant can move in. (Can't link to the post right now).

Cafe Pyrus has now relocated to 305 King St W. That stretch of Charles St W (where they were previously) is certainly not busy with foot traffic at this point. Maybe later ...

It should be a good location but restaurants/bars seem to have a tough time there. Has anyone been to the Sportsworld location? Looking at their beer menu, it seems like they might have to up their game a little bit to compete Uptown...looks like a list that would have been more common 20 years ago https://piperarmspub.com/wp-content/uplo...t-Menu.pdf

Goldie's Convenience (wine bar) planning to open at 98 Queen St S, likely early in the new year. This may yet be the first new opening in this set of commercial units post-renovation. Canadian Cannabis Bouteek is promoting their new shop at 90 Queen St S (the Pearl Laundry building) but they also don't have a permit yet -- and the AGCO moves very, very slowly. Several other units have interior renos ongoing.
