Ford is currently busy reducing restrictions. He's opened outdoor dining in Toronto, opened more shopping, dramatically increased indoor restaurant capacity in red zone areas, etc. So even if there is some sort of action to slow down the spread, it'll be half hearted at best. I think we always knew that as soon as the vaccine rollout picked up that was the end of any attempt by Ford to really reduce things. I expect he figures that hospitals can deal with being overrun for a few months until vaccines are more widespread.
