Waterloo Region reported 90 new cases for today (23.1% of the active cases). 422 new cases for the week (+28), averaging 12.7% of active cases. 429 active cases (-226 in the last seven days).
A shocker of a number for new cases after a long series of daily case counts around 60. It turns out that 26 of those are at a single LTC facility. This is terrible because those are some of the highest-risk people. However, on the positive side, the non-LTC number is only 64, still stable, so no indication of massive new community spread.
An average of 1,767 cases/day for the past week, for an average positivity of 3.57%.
Ontario reported 1,848 new cases today -- another new high -- with a seven-day average of 1,822 (+10). 1,753 recoveries and 45 deaths translated to an increase of 50 active cases, and a current total of 16,283. +1,286 active cases for the week and 179 deaths. 63,051 tests -- a new record here, again -- resulted in a 2.93% positivity rate. The positivity rate is averaging 3.56% for the past seven days, as compared to 3.77% for the preceding seven.
235 patients in ICU (+7) and 808 hospital beds in total (+134 for the week).
