A very positive report today, with only 347 new cases in Ontario, the lowest since 05 April, for a 2.3% increase. 648 recovered and 45 dead for a net reduction of 346 (!) active cases, the trend line is now looking very encouraging. There are now 5,120 active cases given 9,612 recoveries and 996 deaths. The ratio of deaths to recoveries has been quite steady at just below 1:10. 2632 confirmed positives to date among LTC facility residents, 140 of the 347 new cases among LTC residents.
246,952 tests to date (less than yesterday -- a change in methodology?) with 11,554 tests for the day. 977 cases currently hospitalized (+20) and 235 in the ICU (-2). Hospitalization number is still creeping up (due to LTC transfers?) but the ICU population has been stable for the past three weeks.
Quebec added 837 cases today, with the rate of increase of 3.1%. 209,816 tests done to date, about 5,300 in the last 24h. 1648 currently hospitalized (+23) and 222 in ICU (+5).
Quebec is reporting 18,785 which means over 70% of the confirmed cases are still active, with only 6,028 recovered. This compares to about 30% of the confirmed cases being active in Ontario. Are the criteria different? Or are some Quebec regions not reporting recoveries? Not enough detail on the Quebec site!
