It looks like a nice pedestrian oriented plaza. It could do with a few more trees to provide shade and/or to absorb the wind tunnel turbulence.
I would also be interested to know whether every pedestrian route will providing universal (ie ramped) access to the plaza. From the sketches, it appears that there is at least one pedestrian access (south of the Kaufman mansion) that is only stairs.

I think the accessible route would be up the sidewalk and then back in front of the mansion, which I'd guess isn't any further than a ramp south of the mansion would be and which takes advantage of the existing grade change of the sidewalk.
Overall, I like this design much more than the first ones that came out that seemed far more cut-off from King Street.

I am no architect but I am very impressed by these buildings. As well as the work being done for google across the street it really is going to have a neat vibe.
The transit hub across the street and you suddenly have a very interesting transit gateway. It does make me think the Transit Hub should be significantly redesigned to match the new surroundings though.

18,28,32 and 36 stories if I read it right. My god midtown is becoming its own beast.

And 44. A 5th tower has long been in the plan, though last night is the first time Van Mar released this to the public. If I recall, the height is somewhere around 160 meters.

If none of the other proposed projects in the pipeline don't beat it first, yeah.

The massing for tower 5 interests me. Could be quite unique and different than the typical condo in this region. Towers 3 and 4 don't get me as excited. Still a nicely planned urban space.
I would have preferred they reduced the number of towers to 4, made them all taller and make the "park" space or urban square larger looking over the tracks into downtown.

What is the time frame for when each phase will be completed? I’m interested to know when we should expect construction on that 44 story tower

Nothing announced yet. I can't give any more information since they are still in development, but there are two developers working on some very large projects.

Larger than 44 storeys? Or taller than 160m?
The first wouldn't surprise me too much, but if a pure residential project is over 160m then it's probably 50+ floors. This one gets a real height boost from its 10 floors of commercial.
