Well, they wanna push the brownstone (ground level town home style) I reckon - like 144 Park? I honestly don't know if I would want to pay higher than usual townhouse prices to be at the ground floor of a massive tower but each there own (They are usually the last to be sold).
For those interested in 3 bedroom units, were you guys thinking to buy for self? It would be 500k+ for 3brms I imagine, based off the new 2 bdrms in the area. On 1000 square feet you're looking at approx 500/long condo fees.
Edit: hit submit too early

Can the city mandate them?

I got the floor plans today via email too. 1B ranging from 500-600sqft. 2B at 700-800 sq/ft. Basically Toronto sized units like the Duke tower has.

Gotta say there are a lot more 347 (yah you read that right) to 499sqft units than I expected from the 'un-Toronto'...

To be very honest, i don’t like these renders or how the buildings looked considering this is supposed to be the focal point of KW, downtown Kitchener.
It is very underwhelming to say the least.
I enjoyed the old Sixo midtown renders more

The buildings look taller than the ones in the SIXO render. How many floors in the tallest building?

The old Sixo project renders were much more impressive and inspiring. It's hard to know what the entire site concept is going to be here, but right now the "Union Towers" look like they are crouched behind the Kaufman Mansion. Where the whole Sixo project was unveiled at once so you got a sense of how the site was connected.

I don't even understand why Vanmar threw the old concept to the grinder anyway, with a few tweaks it could have been the landmark development in KW.
