Has it really been 20 years that the lot has sat vacant? Seems like it wasn't that long ago. Was that lot burned down by that arsonist who was setting fire to all kinds of properties throughout the 1990s?

I'm curious to see what does go in at 225 King Street West, it's a prime piece of land.

533 Queen St S in Kitchener has a construction-ish looking fence around it.
This was one of the surplus properties the region sold off as no longer needed for the extension of Benton back in 2014-15 I think.
Everyone move to the back of the bus and we all get home faster.

There is this staff report for 533 Queen St from 2015 that indicates that a conversion from residential to office space was desired.

Strictly speaking, a condition of the demolition permit is that these two lots be sodded. That should be what happens until some other application is made.

That's a little misleading to get the demolition permit is it not?

If you haven't seen this addition to the neighbourhood yet, be sure find a moment to pass by, it really is quite a nice addition. It appears to twinkle in the sun as you travel down West.

Of note: the vacant lot on the southeast corner of Belmont and Union (adjacent to the Arabella Park building) has been fenced off and no trespassing signs installed.
Anyone know what is going on here? Almost appears to be some sort of site remediation.

Condo Culture is a bit of a mystery to me. Are they just real estate agents specializing in condos, or something else?

That's an old gas station property so remediation will be required before any construction, I expect.

They are the hip young cool kids that drive expensive cars and dress in short tight slacks with ankle socks. They "specialize" in condos.
I'll keep my opinions to myself about who I think they really are.

Once this section of queen get revamped, hopefully the overhead string lights are integrated into goudies! That'd be really nice looking
