Couldn't they find a nice fact from the past to reminisce about? gas light was an expensive, highly polluting, inferior form of illumination. If we are going that way, how about "outhouse district" or "polio district" or "women can't vote district?"

My mind immediately went to:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaslighting Whenever you come home from the Gaslight district, everyone will tell you what a good time you had, even though you thought you didn't??? Maybe you're just forgetting the fun times? Why is everyone so sure that you had an amazing time? Maybe you did? I guess you should go back???

Completion by 2020? I do wonder whether that's realistic, it's a lot of condo units to sell.

Here's a new Cambridge Times article about the development. Craig is calling it the biggest thing to happen to the city since Toyota. Bit of hyperbole there, I think.
A lot of the tenants at the mall got little notice that they were getting the boot. I hope they'll be able to find new locations, the independents especially.

I don't see it as any bigger than Riverbank Lofts in Hespeler. The biggest thing about it is that it's bringing a new focal point to the west bank alongside the theatre.
A lot of people are up in arms about the pedestrian bridge, saying it's a waste of money and a vanity project. I think it plays a big role, Southworks or no Southworks. There's a big stretch between Concession and Main without a crossing; this will aid pedestrian traffic flow.
