Appreciate that VanMar decided to finally add some blue to the sea of monochrome around town. Not incredible architecture but refreshing to see some earthly tones on a tower.

Not everything is white/grey/black in Kitchener, Van Mar is one of the last developers to add colour to their buildings. The Scott - yellow accents Garment St - light brown King/Madison - red brick Market Flats - green Vertikal - red Woodside - brown Maverick - yellow The Winston - brown

Sure, I mean more on the order of the tall buildings in town. Garment St. definitely added colour, if only to mimic the Glove Factory and The Scott got praise mostly for being a nice colour palette on a modest but well organized building.
In contrast, all the IN8 Kitchener towers are black and white or shades of grey, Greenwin is hell bent on painting everything they operate white, and to be honest, Vertikal barely counts for having red. Vive also seems to have most of their new buildings around downtown proposed in some greyscale with a hint of browns.

But Vive has been adding colour to their buildings in the past few years: Market Flats, Maverick, Winston and Woodside all have colour. (Ophelia has large murals but is otherwise rather monochrome.)

Anyone see the recent scathing review of 15 Wellington? Seems like not all of this is unique to 15, but

Seems like not all of this is unique to 15, but I’ve lived in 5 Wellington since January 2023 and my experience is not the same as this person’s. - The AC did take a long time to get started in the spring of 2023 because it was the first time the building was being switched over and they encountered some issues. It was frustrating, but this didn’t happen at all this past spring in 2024 - which they moved out prior to. - Fire alarms happened when the building was being finished / occupied in the spring of 2023. Since the spring of 2023, there have not been any frequent fire alarms. - I have never had an issue booking the elevator. It’s been a smooth and simple process every time. - The water is hard, but that’s Kitchener for you. I don’t think this is exactly building specific. I’ve never had issues with getting hot water. - The garbage chute is occasionally out of order if someone tries to put an object in that is too large and it gets clogged. My floor never just dumped garbage in the chute room, so that appears to be an issue with people on this individuals floor. - I never had an issue with noise… so again might just be an issue with their particular neighbours. Everyone on my floor has been respectful of one another. Construction noise might be louder if you’re directly facing it, but I only ever heard it if my windows were open. - I’ve never had a package stolen. If their delivery people are not putting them in a secure location (the parcel lockers) then that’s not really the building’s fault. - The building is cleaned professionally once a week, not once a month. I’ve never seen any sort of filth as described by this person. Initially before there were garbage cans in the garage in spring of 2023 people would litter, but not as bad now. Again that’s more a people than a building thing. Sometimes if people are frustrated, they tend to over exaggerate their frustrations - so I thought I’d share my experience to contrast.

Do the buildings use water softeners? Or is it standard (hard) city water out of the taps? The city water is super hard in many areas, and I think Station Park has about the worst of it.
Noise is absolutely dependent on the people living next to you, but of course the level of sound insulation will affect how much of that noise you will hear. But, that said, as a general rule you should contact bylaw with any noise problem as a concierge would not be able to do anything to resolve it. And that would be true for any condo or apartment building--or a house.

Permit applied for Tower D construction of underground parking lot and also the construction of the full tower. Look Iike things are moving along. I wonder how many units have been sold for Tower D.

Can we hear more from owners and/or residents in terms of living in these first two buildings, now that we are coming to 2 years since occupancy by my recollection...
There have been some pretty enticing pricing for units on sale...not far off of the OG 2019/20 pricing, believe it or not.

Former owner here. I have nothing positive to say about my experience owning/living here, so I will keep it to myself! Feel free to DM me any specific questions

I'm curious as to what you did to avoid the same problems repeating? And did you select another condo building, or something completely different?
