Maybe GRR could buy that derelict building on Madison next to the tracks. I am tired of looking at it when I go by on Stirling. It needs to be either demolished or fixed up and used for something.

You mean the old Robson Lang Tannery?   I suspect that site is too toxic to be put to any use involving humans.

I could tell you stories of the railcars and tanks full of slimy, fetid green tannery waste leaking all over the ground, but you'd think I was exaggerating.  I don't know what substances are used in the leather tanning process, but I can't see the site as being anything other than heavily contaminated.

Chromium would be the green in the tanning process likely. Nasty stuff.

I mean, if you put in millions of dollars, then you can remediate... That's why the US has Superfund.

The developer is Falco Group, they've been around for awhile but it appears that they just hold land and flip it.

I'm glad, hopefully whoever buys this land totally re-designs the project. Putting a huge blank wall along the Victoria St sidewalk is crazy, as if Victoria St wasn't already pedestrian hostile enough. I get that the grade change is difficult, but there are undeniably better solutions.

A mural or some sort of public art is good enough for me. Its only the corner section of the building so its not too bad

Big ups for both a potential start to redeveloping those lots along Victoria and sending a bit of density out that way with good connections to new infra and transit routes.

Also love to see someone proposing a building (to be realized or not) with some street wall apartments instead of the commonly dead floors 2-6 for parking podiums we keep seeing built.

I've seen quite a few that had them, but it was only on the street-facing facade, the rest of the podium is parking
