Is there a specific place where I can find demolition permits for properties?
#1
I'm trying to help out a friend who is an artist. They'd like to salvage old building materials from properties undergoing demolition. Does anyone know if there is a specific place on any of the city websites where I can find that sort of information out? They'd like to find what properties are set to be demolished so that they can then contact the city or property owner to inquire about obtaining some of the old waste material. Searching the city websites is just giving me generic links to information about obtaining permits, but I'd just like to know if the city lists properties that are to be demolished.

Here is two links that might help. One for Kitchener and the other for Waterloo. It is all permits, including demolition. It’s usually pretty up to date in real time but not really user friendly Because you have to manually go looking, which might not be ideal. Maybe there’s a way to export it and filter most recent.

I would suggest calling someone like Timeless Materials since they are often doing the same thing.  They may have a line on which buildings are up next.

Thank you both for the suggestions! I'll share these links with my friend and hopefully they can get some good information for their work.
