75 Years of Modern Architecture - ac3r - 06-17-2022

Martin Simmons Sweers is selling an anniversary book titled 75 Years of Modern Architecture ($34.95) which documents 75 years of modern architecture projects they've contributed to the region over the course of their time operating here. It has over 100 pages of photographs and information on their projects and influence in Waterloo Region. It can be purchased for delivery online with free shipping within the cities or at their architecture office at 113 Breithaupt Street (Suite 200), which is the black building at the end of the street. They're also selling a matching tote bag ($7.95).

Ok, so who can tell me what building is pictured on the dust cover of that book (without looking at other sources - no cheating!)?  Smile

First correct answer gets a “like” from me.

I looked at the photo, thought “highschool”, then “Cameron Heights”, then checked in Streetview, thought I got it completely wrong, then had the idea to go around to the main entrance, and sure enough:

They load for me. It is a JavaScript-heavy site though, the pages first appear blank and then the content loads via JavaScript. I only see it blank for a fraction of a second, but on an older browser, or one with some things disabled, it may take longer or not load at all.

OK, it seems to be working now. I just needed a reboot.

I've always had a quiet admiration for some of the local architecture firms that managed to create local pieces that stood the test of time. We're lucky to have them!
