Wroute - taylortbb - 09-12-2018 There's a new all day two way "transit" service between downtown Guelph and Fairview Park Mall, called Wroute. Apparently every 15 minutes, can bring your bike, and the ride is in a Tesla. Pricing is definitely premium at $20, more like a Greyhound without a discount, but not totally out of line with the (much less convenient) alternatives. https://www.therecord.com/news-story/8897621-new-all-electric-passenger-service-to-connect-waterloo-region-and-guelph/ RE: Wroute - Canard - 09-13-2018 Neat idea! Always good to have more options. RE: Wroute - Canard - 09-13-2018 ...WRoute is actually an incredibly clever name... as much as I love ION, that would have been a great close second for our LRT! RE: Wroute - Canard - 09-24-2018 Jeff Pickel (570 News) was on the first departure from Fairway today, at 6:30am. One neat thing I noticed in the photo on their website - bike racks! From their site: Quote:BICYCLES ARE WELCOME. This is awesome! I might actually do this; throw my bike on the back, go for a ride in a Tesla, and enjoy some cycling in Guelph. RE: Wroute - danbrotherston - 01-03-2019 Well, exciting news today from WRoute: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/kitchener-waterloo/wroute-expands-burlington-aldershot-guelph-1.4964664?cmp=rss Service expanded to WR Airport, U Guelph, The Butterfly Conservatory, Aldershot GO, and Mapleview Shopping Centre. Great news indeed! Especially the GO Connection gives them another option for getting to Toronto. I do wonder/hope that it will show up in Google Maps since that's the only way I would be able to figure out if the timing worked well for my trips, it also continues to be a premium priced service, which is fine. I will however ding CBC here, as there does exist public transit options between KW and Hamilton, via Megabus...which, despite cutbacks, does still exist. How viable is it to take Wroute to Aldershot and then to continue to Toronto / elsewhere on VIA or at Pearson? It might be usually worse than GO to Square One / Bramalea but better at some times. I'll have to look that up on a per-trip basis. Anyone doing my homework for me would be great. RE: Wroute - KevinL - 01-03-2019 Aldershot is a game changer. Very stoked to hear that. RE: Wroute - Canard - 01-03-2019 What will be the round-trip Fare to/from Aldershot? How do you "hail' or otherwise book a Wroute vehicle back when your train arrives? I'm sure they will show up when the changes are implemented. The Butterfly Conservatory and WR Airport are small diversions to the existing WRoute route which are convenient additions. RE: Wroute - bgb_ca - 01-03-2019 I just went to see if they had a "Stop" listed at fairview like they do for the buses, and I noticed that apparently the ION stop is now a grocery store https://www.google.com/maps/place/Fairview+park+station/@43.422631,-80.4410695,19.25z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x882b8b452ac1b437:0xc2960c4769ac9ebf!8m2!3d43.4225108!4d-80.4407177 edit: And if anyone is wondering, they have the wroute times listed under stop 1557 (Route 52 stop) RE: Wroute - trainspotter139 - 01-03-2019 (01-03-2019, 07:55 PM)bgb_ca Wrote: I just went to see if they had a "Stop" listed at fairview like they do for the buses, and I noticed that apparently the ION stop is now a grocery store if you search for Fairway Station in Google Maps you will get the actual stops (that are not publicly editable as they are controlled by an external API) rather than some location that was created by a person with a name that isn't even accurate. https://www.google.ca/maps/place/Fairway+Station/@43.4225262,-80.4419787,18.25z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x882b8adbb52d9665:0xe55f919ed9539a04!8m2!3d43.4229121!4d-80.4409819 RE: Wroute - bgb_ca - 01-03-2019 (01-03-2019, 08:16 PM)trainspotter139 Wrote:(01-03-2019, 07:55 PM)bgb_ca Wrote: I just went to see if they had a "Stop" listed at fairview like they do for the buses, and I noticed that apparently the ION stop is now a grocery store I think I may have needed to add a /s tag to that (and I found it not by searching, just zooming the map on the area.) Hows to "hail" or otherwise book: Go to their website and click on "book a ride", at least the Guelph route was every 15 minute scheduled service.
