RE: Ottawa LRT - KevinL - 07-31-2017

My brother lives in Ottawa, apparently getting tickets was a real chore on a poorly designed site and he gave up trying. Pity.

RE: Ottawa LRT - Canard - 07-31-2017

Bummer! I'll be going potentially this weekend, so I'll make sure to reserve tickets well in advance.

RE: Ottawa LRT - Markster - 07-31-2017

My Father-in-Law went last week. Apparently there is a standby line too, which got him in relatively quickly.

He sent me a couple pictures, but I think you have to be there to appreciate it.

From this week past:

Lyon Station - Above ground passenger entrance. [In addition to the entrance from Sparks St and the food court below the Marriott]

Looking down at the work progressing on the future underground station.

Had a bit of time to waste before my train left Ottawa, so I walked over to visit the Trembley station under construction:

The Confederation Line station as seen from the VIA Rail Station.

Looking from the west side of the station.

I did notice a WiFi hotspot called "OLRT Trembly".  Didn't try to connect, but I wonder if they will have free WiFi on the system!

Oooooooooooooooohhhhh

They actually look not too bad. The design is growing on me (very, very slowly) Big Grin

RE: Ottawa LRT - Markster - 10-16-2017

I would still like your suggestion of the continuous black windows!

RE: Ottawa LRT - Canard - 10-16-2017

At least it looks like Toronto's going to do that!

RE: Ottawa LRT - Canard - 11-02-2017

Ottawa is going to name their LRV's!

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Children/youth 16 years and under have a chance to Name the Trains on the <a href="https://twitter.com/OC_Transpo?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@OC_Transpo</a> ⭕️Train system! Love this so much. Besançon is my favourite, because it's so classy:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Besançon did this for their tramway, and I've always loved how it turned out. cc: <a href="https://twitter.com/rideIONrt?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@rideIONrt</a> <a href="https://t.co/jMR81WcyPE">pic.twitter.com/jMR81WcyPE</a></p>&mdash; ? But even just a simple name on each vehicle brings a smile to my face. I was grinning from ear to ear every time one of the Stockholm metro trains rolled in.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">I love that all of the <a href="https://twitter.com/BombardierRail?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@BombardierRail</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/MOVIA?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#MOVIA</a> trains in Stockholm are named! <a href="https://t.co/e6YTJJeOaK">pic.twitter.com/e6YTJJeOaK</a></p>&mdash; ? RE: Ottawa LRT - Spokes - 11-02-2017

I think naming ours would be a great idea. Why not??

I don't understand why it looks like there's overspray between the stripes. That does look terrible, I agree.

Nice to see the final livery.
