But not remotely surprising.

I'm pretty sure townhouses back then were considered high-density and a risque project. It certainly would have been the area of highest density built in the Uptown since the mid-80s.

Quite likely the reporter didn't think it necessary to find out who Mr Tyssen is.  Five minutes of web searching often uncovers much interesting background.

I liked that the Federation of Agriculture representative was next in the 2011 presentations, in favour of LRT for preserving farmland etc. Pertinent to another current thread ....

I wish there were views from other angles but I think the new renders are an improvement as well. If the completed project looks like this in the end it would definitely be one of the most unique high rises in the region.

If you like it, go to council to speak about it. As is, I imagine that most residents around it would want to see the footprint halved and height cut by 1/2 to 2/3, based on previous delegations on the original proposal.

That's quite a 'brick' of a building. I would hazard a guess that the mostly concrete wall immediately behind the former Brick Brewery building is masking an above ground parking structure.

Looks like there's a webpage for this now that could be updated in the first post (could also edit it to say Brick instead of Birck too Smile )

Are those cars inside the Brick building? It looks like headlights. I think that kind of reuse would definitely irk a lot of people.
