I think if it was relocated it wouldn't be so bad. The Boathouse washrooms used to be like that. Everything has moved to the newer set of washrooms. It's a such a shame though, the disrespect that is shown to that public facility. There's really no solution to it. Those public washrooms aren't useful to the general public either. Is there any progress of construction or is it just an empty lot? RE: The Bright Building | 749 King St W | 18fl + 3fl | proposed - Bjays93 - 11-05-2020 Looked like excavation was ongoing here last I saw RE: The Bright Building | 749 King St W | 18fl + 3fl | proposed - Square - 11-05-2020 No, no work since demolition, still rubble just like the schneider site. RE: The Bright Building | 749 King St W | 18fl + 3fl | proposed - TMKM94 - 11-06-2020 Interesting I wonder why they haven't started Construction? RE: The Bright Building | 749 King St W | 18fl + 3fl | proposed - ac3r - 11-06-2020 I completely forgot about this building, probably since not much as been happening. I'll be really curious to see how this will look when completed. The odd use of yellow is rather unique, reminding me a bit of Le Corbusier in the renderings...but will it look like one of his wonderful buildings, or a colourful Waterloo student apartment monstrosity? Kinda leaning towards the latter, given the massive rectangular footprint this thing has. RE: The Bright Building | 749 King St W | 18fl + 3fl | proposed - white_brian - 01-29-2021 Lots of equipment working on site today RE: The Bright Building | 749 King St W | 18fl + 3fl | proposed - jwilliamson - 02-21-2021 They've started on shoring. Lots of steel beams piled up and a few rigs as well. RE: The Bright Building | 749 King St W | 18fl + 3fl | proposed - Lebronj23 - 03-13-2021 Drove by this site today, definitely under construction. Mods should update the title to U/C RE: The Bright Building (749 King St W) | 18 + 3 fl | U/C - Bjays93 - 04-06-2021 King was closed one way right by this building yesterday, one would have to assume the two are connected. RE: The Bright Building (749 King St W) | 18 + 3 fl | U/C - tomh009 - 04-06-2021 They about a 200m trench dug into King St; it's not clear whether it's actually connected to the construction project, but it would seem logical. The current state of the dig shown below. (Or per-unit through-the-wall heat pumps?) My guess is this is the first whole-building heat pump? Or they have a narrower definition of high rise, or they mean the first one in some number of years. |
