•Cancel the entire project and start over with an updated assessment of facility needs. The city's last assessment was done in 2015 in preparation for the multiplex.

The joint project in the second bullet point involves two schools, the athletic facility, and a library (I refuse to use the name "Idea Exchange") in east Galt. I can see this getting a lot of blowback since it will result in Galt having an eventual four library branches while Preston and Hespeler have to make do with one (and Preston's has been the same size since I moved here in the 80s).

"I think it's an idea that's got legs," he said in an interview Wednesday.
Craig pointed out the ready access to public transit, restaurants and shopping. The mall also already has an ice rink and hall of fame inside.
"All of these things add up to a good location," he said.
Morguard, the management company that operates Cambridge Centre mall, has confirmed to The Record that it expressed interest in being considered as a potential site for the facility.
