RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - GtwoK - 03-15-2017 Settlement Co @ 1 Victoria is scheduled to open tomorrow morning! RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - Viewfromthe42 - 03-15-2017 What time? RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - tomh009 - 03-15-2017 7 AM! RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - Spokes - 03-17-2017 City Cafe's Preston location to close. That's a shame. http://www.therecord.com/news-story/7192004-cambridge-s-city-caf-bakery-closing-its-doors/ RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - jamincan - 03-18-2017 Does anyone have any info about local coffee roasters? I know of Smile Tiger and Contrabean, but am wondering what other options there might be locally. It occurred to me that instead of buying my coffee at the grocery store, I could be supporting local businesses instead (and also the Hydrocut!) RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - panamaniac - 03-18-2017 Nobody offering locally roasted beans at the Kitchener Market? That's an odd gap in the offerings. They roast at Hacienda Sarria, I believe. I think they (used to?) supply Matter of Taste. RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - rangersfan - 03-18-2017 My work gets coffee in from Settlement Co. RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - GtwoK - 03-18-2017 Monigram in cambridge roasts their own as well, I believe RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - jwilliamson - 03-18-2017 Aroma Cafe in the Atrium does their own roasting. RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - panamaniac - 03-18-2017 I think Cafe "O" sells unroasted beans to people who want to roast their own. RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - mpd618 - 03-19-2017 Two more that definitely roast their own coffee: Cafe Serrinia at the Kitchener Market and EcoCoffee in St. Jacobs. I think Matter of Taste roasts their own coffee, but not on site. RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - GtwoK - 03-21-2017 Anyone have any recommendations for where I can get some good steamed pork buns in the region? Preferably for takeout, but open to eat-in if that's my only option. The best I've ever had were from a vendor in St Lawrence Market, but lord knows I'm not driving to Toronto for pork buns Talking about THESE BABIES: RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - timc - 03-21-2017 O My Bakery at Phillip Square seemed to have a large variety of buns, but I must confess that I don't know much about what makes buns good or bad. I just needed carbs one day and it seemed to do the job. RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - tomh009 - 03-21-2017 Cameron Seafood? |
