Haven't had photos of this in a bit. When I drove by yesterday it looked like portions of the Duke St frontage were up past 1 story already?

I think this one might be the fastest in the region.

It's up past first floor already? Jeeze that was quick. Especially for Kitchener standards

I’ll post some pics next week when I’m back home from Regina.

By the way, I didn’t see any tower cranes in Regina, or in Winnipeg for that matter, but I wasn’t paying too much attention there.  So, by comparison, KW is a boom town.  Bigly!

Sorry — a small portion of the first floor is done along the Duke frontage (not along Frederick or anywhere in the middle of the building though). But only some concrete pillars and such at that. No walls or top of the floor. You can see some of the forms for it in the most recent picture in this thread!

Either way, still more than I had expected there to be

I found this on Twitter and I had no idea: https://twitter.com/carolbmartin/status/992557648275849216?s=20

Looks like it may be a ride for some during a major storm.

It would feel much worse during an earthquake! Fortunately we don't get many of those around here.

A tuned mass damper would offset that; don't know if one is planned here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tuned_mass_damper#Dampers_in_buildings_and_related_structures

Just needs heavier chandeliers.

Kitchener's smallest accommodations are coming together quick!

RE: Duke Tower Kitchener | 39 fl | U/C - Spokes - 10-01-2019

Above grade???

That one spot toward the Duke side is, yes. The strip facing the YWCA is still below grade.

RE: Duke Tower Kitchener | 39 fl | U/C - ZEBuilder - 10-01-2019

how is this going to be wheelchair accessible because that one part of the floor looks to be a good 2 feet above the part where the pillars are?
the commercial area which is the lower part looks to be at grade but the main part of the building that isn't commercial is the part that is 2 feet above. are they going to put a ramp from the main entrance to the higher section or an entrance off of duke that is for wheelchairs?
