Quote:A tasting room, small-batch brewhouse and a larger retail store are all on tap as Brick Brewing launches a $9.6-million expansion.

Very intrigued by the small batch brewhouse.  Sometimes I feel like Brick doesn't get much talk in the craft beer circles.  They seem to be a bit in the middle.  Bigger than most craft brewers, but smaller than the big guys

My main interest is in good-quality beer. Sometimes big companies make good beer, too: Paulaner, for example, brews 230M litres per year, and yet they don't compromise on quality.

Oh I couldn't agree more. Small craft brewers are all the rage now, but there's some great big ones still

What's Somersby Cider like? I'm a big fan of KW Craft Cider, so a lighter, dry style.

Somersby is sweet like a pop, very different from KW Craft. The flavour isn't bad though, and they do have a "dry" version of their classic apple (which is still much sweeter than KW Craft), but based on your stated preferences I don't think it'll be your thing. It also has a simpler, less fermented, flavour than KW Craft.

It's also way more available than KW Craft. Apparently the rules for cider are still stuck in the dark ages and they aren't even allowed to sell directly to customers, and partners who might otherwise be able to sell product to customers (Abe Erb, for example), aren't allowed to fill growlers of their cider.

You have to be kidding me ??? WOW, we really need to overhaul our laws with respect to alcohol. Who knew it would be easier to obtain edible pot than have a drink !!
