RE: General Urban Kitchener Updates and Rumours - panamaniac - 12-27-2021 I couldn’t find the relevant thread - is Shoemaker Creek along Borden Parkway being renaturalized? Work seems to be going on at least between Heiman and Mill. Work seems to be going on at least between Heiman and Mill. Yes, and Shoemaker Park is being redeveloped also. I think that they may be going as far as the railroad tracks since they fenced off that area as well. Edit: I found this: Tender Details Renaturalizing Shoemaker Greenway Park RE: General Urban Kitchener Updates and Rumours - nms - 01-07-2022 (12-26-2021, 05:16 PM)LesPio Wrote:(12-26-2021, 12:02 PM)YKF Wrote: I'm not sure whether this has been mentioned before on this site, but there's a 34 unit stacked townhouse listed on realtor.ca at 624 King Street West. The listing is no longer active. RE: General Urban Kitchener Updates and Rumours - nms - 01-12-2022 The medical plaza at Victoria and Westmount has a zone change notice up. RE: General Urban Kitchener Updates and Rumours - LesPio - 01-13-2022 Looks like the building next to Central Meat Market was torn down yesterday/today (742) . Anyone know what's going on with this site? Anyone know what's going on with this site? Too bad! I always liked the way the front wrapped around the old house to provide a modern-looking medical-centre type appearance, while most of the building was still old. And I wondered exactly how the new and old fit together. Oh well, will be interesting to see what comes next for the site (and note, not saying this shouldn’t have happened; just saying I thought what was there was interesting in its own way). Anyone know what's going on with this site? Building permits for 742 has the demolition permit, but there's no permits for any replacement, not even an application. Maybe the owner wants the cheaper vacant land tax rate while they sit on it until redevelopment? RE: General Urban Kitchener Updates and Rumours - ac3r - 01-14-2022 There's a plan for that plot of land, but it's still preliminary and hence no application yet. Not sure why it got demolished so soon however. Midtown will start to pick up, but the lack of commercial space is what's putting off developers right now. It's kind of a non-oasis in that there's lots of space to densify, but not enough established business and other facilities around there. But since it's part of the plan to develop an urban corridor, there's a lot of interest in the area...it's just very patchworky right now until it starts snowballing into a more desirable area. RE: General Urban Kitchener Updates and Rumours - Andy Mc - 01-22-2022 New City RE: General Urban Kitchener Updates and Rumours - ac3r - 01-25-2022 There's another very tall tower in the works for downtown. Not sure when the developer plans to put an application in, but look out for it. Add to this view! b RE: General Urban Kitchener Updates and Rumours - Lebronj23 - 01-25-2022 Just a guess, I think 10 Duke W. At least 40 storeys on top of the Heritage building Would it make sense for VanMar to do this while Station Park isn’t even done the first and smallest phase? I guess they could submit applications and have it ready to go at a later date though. I’m not sure what other sites are primed for a big tower at the moment..
