Yeah. I could have sworn I encountered it on a brand new road, but for the life of me, I cannot find it now.

Well the anti-road safety gnomes are out on reddit in force.

I don't know how we make progress in our world. If the physical reality of speed causing collisions and injuries is so threatening to one's world view that you cannot even admit it...how do we solve that..I really don't know.

I saw a Shannon Weber video on Facebook where she said she wanted to open the residential speed limits issue again. I hadn't investigated the mayoral candidates' positions, but that made it easy to decide.

Yeah, I'm not surprised. I think the thing that really bugs me is the people who are claiming this was against what people wanted...they (including certain Record reporters) are knowingly misleading people.

Another cyclist run over on Weber St. at Marshall.

I'm just so tired of this...I feel like it is never going to change.

Just a random quote and video I found that is suitable for this time of year from @fietsprofessor that does a great job at illustrating how much road space is a complete waste.

Quote:Every winter, fresh snow reveals how much we’ve over-designed our streets & roads for cars, making them faster & more dangerous, & how much space we could reclaim for people & public life.

City Engineer: a 53' tractor trailer can't make those turns, so lets just scallop them back until we have the original configuration.

Collisions involving cyclists and pedestrians ‘a huge problem’
‘People are driving with an increased sense of urgency and recklessness’ says lawyer Dave Shellnutt

Dave Shellnutt is a an excellent activist. The article is on point.

Does he have a chance of effecting any change?

Probably a pipe dream but I'd love to see Euro sized emergency vehicles used in the region. Just one less barrier to over-building our roads. Our fire trucks are huge, trying to pass one coming from the other direction on Guelph Street when they are cruising around is not a trivial task.

He has a better chance than people unwilling to even admit the problems.

The irony that we have those enormous Mac truck engines but then have to ensure no main road has a speed hump. I guess the Dutch and Danish houses just burn to the ground?

Anybody got any pictures of Albert from Columbia to Erb to add to this reddit thread?
