RE: Grand River Transit - KevinL - 06-13-2019 If you could use a fold-out full-city map of the new services, they're now available at Charles Terminal. This edition is even free of charge! RE: Grand River Transit - plam - 06-13-2019 I observed GRT buses not stopping at train tracks as previously discussed. I guess it's in effect now. Yay! RE: Grand River Transit - MidTowner - 06-14-2019 When was it supposed to come into effect? And was it going to be all tracks? On the 200 yesterday, my bus stopped at the tracks on Northfield, may not have stopped at the tracks at University (not sure- sometimes they do a more fulsome stop, even briefly opening the doors), and then did stop in Uptown. I thought it was all tracks with gates? I saw 2 buses at University and Laurel Trail not stop. RE: Grand River Transit - KevinT - 06-14-2019 A nice demo of how the U-turn at Block Line station's going to work: RE: Grand River Transit - danbrotherston - 06-15-2019 More EasyGO insanity: This error message, which EXPLICITLY tells me to call customer service (but does not provide a phone number), is apparently not something that can be handled over the phone, but requires an online form to filled out. I cannot comprehend how it is possible to be so bad at developing software. RE: Grand River Transit - Bob_McBob - 06-15-2019 It's fitting the "EasyGO fare card" link in the menu is broken. RE: Grand River Transit - danbrotherston - 06-16-2019 There is a Route 7 detour today on King St. from Union to Victoria in the southbound direction. The reason on GRTs site is "Reason: Grandlinq -CCTV Scans" Anyone have any idea what this means? In addition to sandwich boards like this it’s probably on almost half of the posts and vertical surfaces in the terminal. So with it almost being the 24th, do we start accepting RFPs on the 25th???? RE: Grand River Transit - danbrotherston - 06-24-2019 A great deal of activity at Charles Terminal this morning. Some folks waiting for GO and Greyhound busses of course; they are blocking off the unused busways with concrete barricades, which is unfortunate, not going to be a good look for the next few years...of course, I don't have a better suggestion; and a few GRT transit buses in the station as well, although they all appear to be out of service. Surprisingly, I do not see anyone actively directing people away, nor does there appear to be a lot of confused people, which is good news. As you say, it's going to be like that for a while. Walking past an under-utilized bus station some of which is blocked off by concrete Jersey walls is not so pleasant. Thanks a lot for the photo and the report. RE: Grand River Transit - Spokes - 06-26-2019 Will GO and Greyhound continue to use the space? RE: Grand River Transit - danbrotherston - 06-26-2019 Yes. Two platforms are still open. The terminal still has a moderate level of activity which is a good thing. RE: Grand River Transit - Spokes - 06-26-2019 Definitely a good thing. A ghost town would only cause it to go downhill fast RE: Grand River Transit - KevinL - 06-26-2019 The GRT customer service desk is moving out next month, that might reduce activity somewhat. |
