This is Schembri we're talking about here. Not really a company that seems to hold themselves to a high standard.

And sadly this might be a step up from some of their other work.

Driving by this construction site shows really how ridiculous it is having a complete block under construction minus one house.

RE: The Block - rangersfan - 08-24-2015

Looks like the developer is looking to squeeze more units out of this development.

Perfect, increased density for the ugliest new development.

I vote they reduce the density of this project.  Smile

RE: The Block - tomh009 - 08-29-2015

I think increased density is OK for the area -- it's not excessive anyway at six floors -- but the city should use this opportunity to force a better design for the development.

RE: The Block - Spokes - 09-04-2015

Six seems to fit in well with what's around it, or going to be around it.

When you're walking along the street, this development looks surprisingly -not terrible-.

RE: The Block - Spokes - 12-26-2015

I agree. I think the scale fits well too.

An update on the increased density request.

RE: The Block | 5 fl | U/C - rangersfan - 06-16-2016

Apparently the increased density request has been approved.

Steel beams are up for the next phase.

I like how the first phase is soft-convertible to have retail/service on the ground floor.

RE: The Block | 5 fl | U/C - Spokes - 10-29-2018

Here I was thinking this one was close to being done. I think I failed to realize how truly big it is.

RE: The Block | 5 fl | U/C - Spokes - 11-01-2018

When this project first came online, there was one house that didn't sell and they planned the project around it. Did anything happen with that?
