RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - ac3r - 06-10-2024 The proposed project will have a 6 floor podium with commercial space, so they may choose to move into one of the units. RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - Bytor - 06-11-2024 I remember when the Charcoal was a super classy and respectable place to go for an upscale dinner. (An, no, I am not being sarcastic.) (An, no, I am not being sarcastic.) It still is a go-to expense account/special occasion kind of place, no? At least for the red meat crowd. RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - Rainrider22 - 06-12-2024 I still think it's great. When you see employees that have been there 20 or 30 years, I would suggest they are still doing something right. RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - Rainrider22 - 06-12-2024 I had lunch today at Casa Toro..Mexican street food. Second time and I was not disappointed Both times have been excellent. And the owners are really nice people Check them out and help out a young couple doing a great job. RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - Acitta - 06-19-2024 (06-07-2024, 05:10 PM)ac3r Wrote: A developer is proposing a large development where the Charcoal Steak House is, so I assume the restaurant will either close or relocate at some point in the coming months. Wouldn't say it's a big loss, it's super generic food but nonetheless it did seem like a popular place. Charcoal Steak House property rezoned for future ‘flexibility’ Application proposal calls for a 32-storey mixed-use building and includes 436 residential units, but restaurant co-owner says there are no imminent plans for redevelopment Quote:The juicy cuts at the Charcoal Steak House aren’t going anywhere. RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - Acitta - 06-30-2024 Highrise development will cause Mandarin restaurant owners to find new location The local Mandarin restaurant, a fixture at 4220 King St. E. in Kitchener since 2006, will move to a new address to make way for a condominium development. Details such as the timing and the new location have yet to be determined. RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - tomh009 - 06-30-2024 Based on an AGCO notice posted on the door, the former Ellison's restaurant will reopen in the (near?) future as Zara's Lounge & Bar. RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - tomh009 - 07-02-2024 Sushi Stars moving to Sportsworld area. RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - Vojnik_Vahaj - 07-12-2024 Sorry for the bump, but what would y'all recommend more, Yeti Cafe or Lucero Canteen(or somewhere else entirely)? I have a coffee date tommorrow and I don't want to take her to the generic Coffee Culture. RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - Rainrider22 - 07-12-2024 If you go to Yeti, you would want to order food as well. Os if just coffee, Lucero might be the better option. Don't forget to consider Smile Tiger.. So, if it's top-quality espresso drinks you are after, go for Lucero.
