As reported some time ago in WRC (not a sparrow falls....), the Record is now confirming the sale of the Lear seating plant on Manitou Dr. News (of the good variety) concerning the buyer and their plans should follow before too long.

It never ceases to amaze me how we seem to always be a step ahead. Great job everyone!

Eavesdropping on coffee shop conversations, reading upside-down, engaging in urban development gossip, and pumping business owners for info.  WRC is on the job!

Very interesting project(UW's Second Heart) , but wasn't sure where to put it.

I just read that article before I came to WRC - it amazes me the amount of medical/health-related activity that takes place at the University. When do they get a medical faculty? Wink

It would certainly change the center of gravity at the university and would make it a lot like all of the other universities in Canada with medical schools. Might be more of a competitive advantage to not have one. It's not like you can have a medical school and not have it take up space.

(MIT does not have a medical school either.)

I don't really think it's in the cards (although there is still space down at King and Victoria!), but the amount of health and medical-related activity that is going on at UofW (and its high tech spinoffs) seems impressive.

MIT doesn't have one, but Stanford does.  Wink

But Harvard has one about 2 miles away from MIT.

Stanford is a full-service university. MIT is an institute of technology. Actually, the only undergraduate degree you can get from MIT is a bachelor's of science ("SB"). So even if you get an English Literature degree, which you can, you still have to take first-year calculus and physics.

It detracts from my argument, but you can sort of get a medical degree from MIT offered in-cooperation with Harvard through HST.

The new Hymer Aktiv model looks very nice.  But at US$105K I suspect it's not aimed at me ... Sad

Great news, looking at doubling their local workforce and open a third building.

You beat me to it!  I was trying to decide whether the new report merited a new "Max-Q Inc" thread - maybe we can set that up when the first start-up news starts coming out!
