When we did the drive-through test in October, many/most people were shutting off their engines while waiting in line. Probably less so now, though, given the outside temperatures.

Yeah, I mean, I can see which ones are at least, not in drive (given brake lights), and most vehicles are in drive.
I imagine the weather is a big deal.

I would have had my car's engine off but still a foot on the brake pedal (manual gearbox ...) so the brake lights would have been on.
Mind you, most people do drive automatics ...

The GO Bus is stopping in the same place as before, you get to wait by the sign. Honestly, in some ways, it's an improvement, since there is no longer any parked cars in the Bus Stop. On the other hand you get to breath in the exhaust from 20-30 idling cars.

If a person has a vehicle, would using transit to get tested meet the threshold for essential trip? Does that threshold change as we move between zones?

I don't think there has ever been a specific definition of "essential trip".
A person who needs a test, obviously would qualify as an essential trip. But it would also be reasonable for that person to drive instead.

Yeah, I think the King/Victoria stop is more popular because it has easier access to both directions of Ion.

So if you have no chance of having COVID, you shouldn't be going to a testing centre.
If you do have a chance of being exposed to the virus, why (if there are alternatives) would you get into an enclosed area with a group of others to possibly contaminate [and add the problems with contact tracing after the fact]. I'd say that would be selfish.
I just got back from an International trip, and will be getting tested next week [I am exempt from the quarantine before you jump down my throat for leaving the house]. I will travel alone in my car to the testing to avoid any possible contact with others. I think that's the opposite of selfish.

I could see public and/or “affordable” rental housing being incorporated into the redevelopment of the block to some extent, but I’ll be surprised if most of it isn’t market freehold or rental apartments. Perhaps a small office tower? Not sure what might work in terms of public amenities - how about an indoor swimming pool? A very small concert or multipurpose hall? A new home for KWAG? There may be a temptation to try to squeeze too much into it.
