I’m a bit confused. I thought there are a lot of older buildings with electric heating that costs a lot per month. This one we’ll be cheaper and more efficient? I’m all for it but I hope the monthly heating cost will be reasonable.

I can't pretend to be a mechanical expert but I think it means that the huge rooftop units that are typically gas powered are going to be run on electricity instead, and not that the suites will have baseboard heaters in each room. Presumably these large pieces of equipment are able to be made more efficient than baseboard heaters.

Not with electrical radiative heating. All electrical devices ultimately convert 100% of their incoming energy into heat with perfect efficiency; the only question is what else gets done by the energy on its way from electricity to heat and where the heat ends up. For example, light bulbs generate visible light which only turns into heat when it is absorbed; fans move air which improves comfort (but which ultimately heats the air); ovens and stoves cook food with the heat they generate, which is then absorbed into the surroundings; and so on.
Heat pumps are another matter.
This is why resistive electrical furnaces are a dumb idea: they have all the downsides of central air combined with the (historically) more expensive electrical energy. Either run the furnace on gas or use baseboard heaters. But again, heat pumps are another matter.
So my guess is the building will have large electric heat pumps.

They must have poured the whole raft slab on Friday. I walked by today and it was covered in burlap and being watered to keep it cool.

Can't wait to see how this building looks when it's finished. I don't really like the rectangular massing, but overall the architecture and materials of this building look pretty good. And midtown needs more love.

Yeah they were doing a big pour over the weekend. Rode by on Saturday and there was a queue of about 10 trucks on Walter St.

I noticed that hole that is reinforced with re-bar. That is the tunnel to link up to the new transit hub, city hall, DTK, the old market square, and Drewlo. The pieces are all coming together now. Excellent.

Can you give some detail on that? I wasn't aware of this, I assumed that hole was the elevator pit

It's part of the new K-W PATH system that will run throughout downtown and uptown. It's going to be a bit like the Elon Musk Boring Tunnel project, except ours is going to use these little pods that can hold up to 2 people (or 1 extremely overweight one). It will use new pneumatic technology that UW and Google have been working on that will propel people at about 85 feet per second and will connect people to most new major developments.
